Aruj Ahmad participated in the Summer 2006 San Francisco BizAcademy and was an intern in the salesforce.com IT Department.  He shares his experience with the program and his experience as an intern.

My name is Aruj Ahmad and I was a part of BizAcademy in the summer of 2006 in San Francisco.  It was an amazing opportunity to experience the actual business world.  It has changed my views of the business world.  I always thought that business was a boring field.  Upon participating in BizAcademy, I realized that business is fun and exciting it can be.  BizAcademy has also led to my decision of being an Economics minor.  Not only did I discover the business world but through this experience, I also discovered my strength and weaknesses.  BizAcademy opened many doors and opportunities for me such as scholarship opportunities which allowed me to achieve a college education.

Being a part of BizAcademy, I have achieved many skills that will help me succeed in college and in the life after college.  Some of these skills are presentation skills, public speaking skills and networking skills.  My experience at BizAcademy has also improved my leadership skills.  Some of these skills such as being punctual and organized I use on a daily basis.  Being a part of BizAcademy, I learned to prioritize tasks and to use my time wisely.  Also, I learned to dress professionally and act professionally.

After BizAcademy, I was given the opportunity of being an IT intern.  I have learned a lot from this amazing experience.  First, I gained the experience of being professionally interviewed by a group of professionals and I have learned to engage with people on a professional level. Also, I learned to analyze data and organize it into a Google Presentation. Along with that, I gained the experience of migrating data from Wiki to Google sites by working with the Wiki Migration team. Furthermore, I learned to perform site clean ups and organize files and documents.  In addition, I have learned to meet deadlines and prioritize my work which led to my success in college.  Moreover, being a Salesforce intern I have gained professional communication and networking skills.
