13th May 2009, Nairobi Kenya
Taking full advantage of having Salesforce.com experts in Nairobi volunteering at St.Martin's School for the week the Salesforce.com Foundation hosted its first nonprofit workshop in Nairobi, for organizations interested in learning more about the Foundation's product donation program.
Vijay Sood, Principal Consultant; Amanda Fennell, Customer Marketing Director and Isabel Kelly from the Salesforce.com Foundation were delighted to host 20 nonprofit participants at The Hilton Hotel in Nairobi.
Highlight of the afternoon was a presentation from Abigael Ondeti and Philis Njeri from Nature Kenya http://www.naturekenya.org, active Salesforce users since March 2008.
They spoke about how they use their 10 donated licenses to track their membership and campaigns to recruit more members. Vijay Sood was particularly impressed at their self-taught skills using Salesforce technology.
Feedback on the event was good, and we hope that new nonprofit users in Kenya will sign up for their donated licenses as a result.
